Does anyone know what performance I can expect from the AMD HD6990?

I just wanted to know if it would be worth waiting for and if it is worth its price.|||The exact specs haven't been released yet, but there is some info you can use.

The 5970 was a single board with two 5870 GPUs connected together. The clock rate of these two GPUs was dropped to 5850 levels to keep power consumption below 300 watts.

The 6990 is expected to be along the same lines, two 6970 GPUs on one card. The 6970 has a max of 250 watts and the 6950 has 200 watts, so it is expected that clock rated will be dropped as in the 5000 series to keep consumption below 300 watts. This is a grey area though, because the 6900 series cards have typical and max power consumption numbers, so no one is sure where the 6990 will be. A good guess is that two 6950 cards in crossfire will be similar in performance.

On a side note, crossfire scaling seems to be better on the 6000 series than it was on the 5000, so this will probably help the 6990.|||6990 hasn't been released yet. and the info for the 6970 and 6950 were very hyped. The 6990 is the dual gpu equivalent to nvidia's gtx 580. You can expect similar or better performance from the 6990 as long as they get the drivers right.|||VS. what? Im guessing that is a graphics card?

We need more information about the system.

Processor? Memory? Hard drive size and speed/ interface?

Windows Version/ MAC OSX? Linux?

Also work load? Is it for gaming or office, huge difference in load on the computer.
